Improve Your Search Engine Ranking
There are abundant writings on the subject of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Friendly (SEF), including many tips and tricks for how to improve your search engine ranking!
My Search Engine Ranking Tips
OK, I'm just an ordinary guy with a measured amount of experience in the writing field. I'm also very interested in the amazing amounts of cash that are made on the internet!
The main things I have learned, so far, are that the site needs to have original relevant content, be established for a while (months to years), and the individual pages need to be tailored to a specific keyword or key phrase.
Picking a Niche
Everything I have read and learned over the past few years tells me that I MUST choose a topic that I enjoy working with, writing about and doing repeatedly! In order to improve your search engine ranking, your content must be your very own, original, relevant information!
I have been a musician since the age of 13, and had a deep love of things musical ever since I can remember! I love creating music, and I especially love the electric guitar. So, it was a no-brainer for me to design a website around my love of the electric guitar, as well as all the things that connect to an electric guitar. All that to say - I have my niche!
Assuming you already have your site up and running, and your traffic is low, with nothing showing up on Google...
Structuring Pages To Improve Your Search Engine Ranking
I have used the following steps to successfully improve my search engine ranking. I have several pages on my site showing up on the first page of Google for my chosen keyword phrases. (Google "Ibanez TS-5 Mod")
Steps to Structure Pages
- Write one how-to, facts, status, current event, or trends, informational article (around 500+ words) targeting each keyword combination (e.g. "Ibanez TS-5 Mods" -and- "Telecaster Wiring Mods").
- Format the articles with the title being the keywords, and include the exact key phrase in 3-4 different paragraphs.
- End the last paragraph with the key phrase very near the end.
- Enclose the first key phrase in "H1" tags so it is the article title.
- Bold one of the key phrases.
- Underline another of the key phrases.
- Italicize one of the key phrases.
Summary:
When you are finished reading this article, and in your finished article, you will see all of the following (yours will be targeting your "keyword phrase"):
- If you "view source" on this page you will see:
(content=)"Improve Your Search Engine Ranking" as the description and keyword meta tags.
- At the top of the browser window you'll see:
"Improve Your Search Engine Ranking"
- At the top of the article page you'll see:
Improve Your Search Engine Ranking
- In the first paragraph you'll see:
... improve your search engine ranking!
- Under the "Picking a Niche" heading you'll see:
... improve your search engine ranking ...
- In the last paragraph, you'll see:
... improve your search engine ranking
When your article is finished (word count 550+) and you have carefully placed these elements in a similar order, you will have written an individual content page that will be directly tailored to your keyword phrase selection. When you use this method correctly, you WILL significantly improve your search engine ranking!
